Imaging benign bone tumors

Benign bone tumors include a wide variety of tumors, each with its own epidemiological, clinical, radiological and management specificities. Imaging plays a vital role in the diagnostic process, and some tumors with pathognomonic imaging do not require biopsy in the presence of a characteristic picture. In the case of tumors that are atypical on imaging or have the potential for local malignancy, preoperative radioguided or surgical biopsy remains the rule. The treatment of these tumors has benefited from advances in interventional radiology, with significant development in percutaneous procedures, for example in the treatment of osteoid osteoma. Some tumors, such as chondroblastoma, aneurysmal cyst, giant cell tumor and chondromyxoid fibroma, require prolonged radiological surveillance to check for local recurrence.This educational and didactic work provides a radiological description of the various benign tumors, richly illustrated with numerous demonstrative diagrams. The book is intended for radiology interns and practicing physicians.
