Impact of Chain-free Corral on Sustainable Elephant Tourism

"Impact of Chain-free Corral on Sustainable Elephant Tourism" is a research-based internship study. I, Sweta Shrestha did an Internship of three months at Tharu Village resort of Nepal to study and learn about the new form of tourism that has been introduced at Tharu Village Resort, setting an example by unchaining ten captive elephants, releasing into the chain-free corral and stopping elephant ride. Nepal shelters numerous captive elephants which are upheld by huge chains and forced to work by carrying tourists through jungle safari. Hence, this book will help people to take an alternative form of elephant tourism and assist in maintaining sustainability through Nepal and other Asian nations.

I am a recent graduate with Bachelor's Degree of Forestry and joined Association Moey, a Swiss non-profit organization with the mission to help captive Asian Elephants. We are based in Chitwan, Nepal with our first retired private elephant promoting ethical, responsible and sustainable elephant tourism.
