Impact of Internet on Library and Information Services of IITs

The library and information services, such as circulation, printed catalogue, indexing, abstracting, referencing, inter library loan, current awareness services, selective dissemination of information services etc. have not only been influenced and enhanced by the Internet but achieved a new heights. The problems of acquisition and serial control have also been well taken care by the Internet. The continuous research and development in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and their applications to the library were always been posing new challenges for the library professionals. In this context the present book Impact of Internet on Library and Information Services of IITs: A study was conceived and tried to look into the problem and also how IITs library professionals are trying to overcome upon them.
