The present study examines the impact of online business on India's economy, with a particular focus on Jharkhand. When assessing the effects of any recent change, event, or economic parameter, it is essential to conduct an econometric analysis by evaluating its net impact on key indicators such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP) or national income. This approach was initially planned for the study. However, an extensive review of global literature on this subject reveals a recurring theme-the productivity paradox of online business. While numerous studies affirm that e-commerce has enhanced efficiency and productivity for both producers and consumers by streamlining the buying and selling process, there is a noticeable gap in research demonstrating how this increased productivity or saved time has been effectively redirected into other productive economic activities.
