In present competitive business environment, career development is becoming as one of the most crucial topics within the modern business world. Similarly, the importance of the leadership of HR professionals is rapidly increasing within the organizations as the result of people-oriented culture. Thus, this study investigates perceived barriers that hinder the career development of HR professionals to climb the top of the corporate ladder and identify the most dominant perceived barriers. Findings revealed that there is a negative impact of perceived barriers on career development and difficulty of getting developmental assignment is the most dominant perceived barrier which hinder the career development of HR professionals to climb the top of the corporate ladder.
