"The impact of pineapple cultivation on the development of the town of Bonoua" is the theme of our work. Pineapple cultivation has been very successful in the sub-prefecture of Bonoua, leading to the creation of agro-industries such as SALCI in Ono, SOCABO and SIACA in Bonoua. Bonoua thus became the main pole of development of this crop in Côte d'Ivoire, encouraging the massive arrival of foreign population in the sub-prefecture. In view of the historical importance of pineapple cultivation in the Bonoua area, many authors and observers assert that the development of this town is the result of pineapple cultivation. Essan Jean-Baptiste was born in Bonoua (Côte d'Ivoire) on 22 May 1985. He obtained his baccalauréat in 2005. In 2014, he obtained a post-graduate diploma in geography and is preparing a doctorate in the same discipline. A public works engineer, he is a research officer at the Ministry of Planning and Development.
