Oral health is a window to overall health problems. Individual care and perception of oral health has a vital role in periodontium as well as systemic health. Socio-demographic and socio-economic sectors has become a risk factor for periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is a multifactorial disease affecting supporting tissues of teeth with a high prevalence in the world especially the developing countries. Early diagnosis of the disease prevents further progression and exfoliation of tooth.
