Impact of Teachers' Adversity Quotient on Students' Success

The world is characterized by constant adversities that affect the way teachers work . Adversities such as wars, disease, and change of social norms and values are some of the adversities affecting schools and teachers work. Today the subject content of every subject is not the sole focus of the teacher in their classroom but the whole being of the student. Constant changes of curriculum, syllabus and subject content in line with changing needs of the society give teachers stress in their work. All these changes and the work stress in school affect students' academic performance negatively. The teacher is the most important factor in influencing students' academic performance,more than books and buildings. Teachers' adversity quotient empowers the teacher to handle constant educational and societal challenges in school effectively. The ability of the teacher to handle adversities inherent in school today has positive effects on students academic performance. Teachers high in adversity quotient have their students producing high scores.Adversity quotient can be learned.Constant in- servicing teachers on adversity quotient is a sure bet of constant success of students.
