Details

Violence at work often is considered a reflection of a more general, pervasive pattern of violence in society as a whole. Nurses working in acute care psychiatry need to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to de-escalate a potentially violent situation. Nursing staff are the cornerstone and they are always in direct contact. It is important to weigh their knowledge and skills to support their self-confidence, which will contribute effectively to the containment of the psychiatric patient and enhance their abilities to submit not only their patient's basic needs, but also maintaining the perfect humanistic therapeutic nursing care milieu.
