Impacts of Industrial Estates

During the last decades, Industrial Estates have been the tools through which many countries overcame their economic crisis. By developing Industrial Estates, they were able to create new employment and reduce poverty without waiting for the economy to reform. The expansive growth of international trade and investment and the globalization of the world economy have encouraged many countries to develop Industrial estates without paying enough attention to the possible negative impacts Industrial Estates may have. Industrial Estate development can be extremely feasible economically but a disastrous environmentally/socially and visa versa. Many academic literatures have discussed the economic impacts, the social and/or the environmental impacts of industrial estates independently. This book represents a unique comprehensive study to measure and evaluate the Economic; Social and Environmental impacts of Industrial Estates without forfeiting any of these elements to favor the others.
