The study was conducted in eight project districts. A total of 480 lentil and mungbean growing farmers was randomly selected for interview. Half of the respondent farmers (demo farmer) cultivated lentil and mungbean under direct supervision of the project. Again, 30 relay lentil farmers were randomly selected from Pabna district for collecting data on lentil relay cropping. Sampled farmers comprised lentil and mungbean farmers on an equal share basis. Mostly tabular method of analysis using descriptive statistics was used in this study.

Quazi Md. Shafiqul Islam, born in Comilla district of Bangladesh in 1960. Holds a M.Sc.(Agril.Coop.) from Bangladesh Agril. University in 1986. Currently working as a Principal Scientist in Agril. Economics Division, BARI, Bangladesh. Over 23 years experience in agro-socio-economic studies. Published 29 articles locally and internationally.
