Impacts of Urban Sprawl on Urban Services and Infrastructure

Urban Sprawl is the uncoordinated spatial spread of an urban area to its peri-urban areas. It is fueled by population dynamics. It is known to have various impacts on land uses, increases pressure on infrastructure and services and leads to problems like mobility challenges due to traffic congestion. This is an in-depth study on these impacts on an isolated peri urban area of Nairobi city in Kenya.
