Dental implant is by far the best option for replacement of a missing tooth. Implants provide a strong foundation for permanent tooth replacement. This can be done for a particular missing tooth or can be done in case of full arch dentures. Implants being durable and bio-compatible are of greatest advantage to humankind. Success of dental implants is commonly defined by the implant survival. Implant failure is the biggest complication, which can be multi-factorial. This book gives a brie review about the etiology, implant quality, osseointegration, various classification and also the management.

Periodontology and Implantology being my subject of interest, has alot to deal with soft tissue relation and the dental implants we place. This built a keen interest into what could be the complications and causes of failure of implant. This is a compilation of my efforts in this context.
