Implementation of IMS solutions with clearwater and SMSC-IP on asterisk

The IMS (Internet Protocol) Multimedia Subsystem network provides telephone service when the mobile network uses the PS (Packet Service) mode. In this network, the implementation of innovative solutions is often a problem. This book highlights the implementation of IMS solutions using Clearwater which represents the core of the IMS network. Clearwater is coupled with the HSS (Home Subscriber Server) of OpenIMSCore which is outsourced and constitutes the user database. An Asterisk application server is used and interconnected with Clearwater to allow users in Asterisk to call users in Clearwater. An SMSC-IP is implemented in Asterisk to allow the storage of messages exchanged between users but also to keep the messages of users not connected. As soon as the owner of the saved message reconnects, the message is automatically forwarded to him.
