In today s competitive world, Companies expect the improvements for growth with SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timed) objectives. Many KPI s have been developed among which, Equipment measurement is one of the important factors to decide the overall plant performance. For the above measurement, a quantifiable indicator is Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) which should be 85% as per World Class Manufacturing. Equipment Effectiveness influences productivity, costs and quality. Higher values of equipment effectiveness indicate plant has minimized or eliminated wastages that arise from equipment related problem resulting in better productivity. This Book focuses on improving of OEE by addressing & solving of six major losses with proper methodology & corrective action methods. This book emphasizes on Problem Analysis with QC and Management Planning tools such as Root cause analysis, 5 Why analysis, Cause & Effect diagram, problem solving methodologies, Implementation of Maintenance systems, Standardized work and Low cost automation techniques.

Richesh Prabhakar Kolhar obtained his M.Sc in Engineering & Manufacturing Management from Coventry University (MSRSAS) in 2011. Currently, he is working for Falcon Technologies Intl LLC, UAE as ETS Engineer focusing on PLC Programming, TPM implementation, Execution of Six sigma & Break through reduction projects.
