IMPROVEMENT OF FASTNESS PROPERTY OF DIRECT DYES USING BANANA SAP

The present study was aimed to development of fastness properties of direct dyes using a natural bio active mordant. Musa acuminata stem extract is mixed along with direct dye as a mordent to improve its fastness property. The fabric is going to be treated with musa acuminata stem extract with methanol of different concentrations by exhaust method.. The expected results of the treated fabrics will not bleed out the dyes during washing and testing. And to fastness property above 8 out of 10 in fastness property scale. the phytochemical tests conforms the presence natural fixing agents like lignin, tannin etc. the treated fabric will also act as a medical textile.
