Indepenence as an Effective Pillar to Regulation

The book aims to expand the understanding of the significance of regulator independence on industry growth especially in developing economies by closely examining the relevance of such independence in Nigeria. The reforms has been of interest in Nigeria because of the leap in growth over the period, which resulted in major contribution to the country's GDP. Investment flows into the sector as as indicator of of investor's confidence in the Regulator has been tremendous. However, whether the relevance of independence of the regulator is the main reason behind the growth and the investor confidence are issues that have occupied the discourse of the book.
