Indigenous Technology in Igboland: Blacksmithing Industry in Nkwerre up to 2000 is a book that focuses on local technology in Igboland with particular reference to Nkwerre, an Igbo community in South-East Nigeria. It examines the significance of blacksmithing as indigenous technology in Nkwerre and elsewhere in Igboland prior to colonialism as well as assesses the reasons for its collapse following the advent of colonial rule. The book recommends paths to indigenous technology advancement in Nigeria.
Autorentext
The author hails from Umukor Durumba Eziala in Nkwerre L.G.A. of Imo State, Nigeria. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in History & Int l Studies from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He has taught courses in History for A Level programme and universities. He is currently an Assistant Lecturer in History Department, Federal University Lokoja, Nigeria.
