Globalization might bring new opportunities to developing countries such as greater access to global markets, acceleration of technology transfer from more developed countries, holds out promise to improved productivity and increased efficiency as mentioned by Hartungi, 2006. Industrial Engineering is concerned with the design, improvement, and installation of integrated systems of men, materials, and equipment (IIE, USA). Chapter one deals with lean manufacturing in reducing waste (muda in Japanese) in a cigarette manufacturing company while chapter two is deals with reliability centred maintenance. Chapter three is based on material handling systems, chapter four is on environmental conscious manufacturing in a dairy industry while chapter five concludes the book with low cost environmental conscious manufacturing techniques in foundry companies in Zimbabwe.

Oliver Chimusoro is an Industrial Engineer with the Department of Infrastructure Development, Gauteng Provincial Government, RSA. He is studying towards a PhD in Industrial Engineering in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Stellenbosch University, RSA. His research interest is in Operaions Management.
