Industrialization and Urban development

Limited land resource and over sized population is pushing people to non-agricultural activities. Industrial sector is absorbing labour force pushed from agricultural sector. Hence, for economic growth as well as economic development, industrialization is a vital component. In Savar municipality, industrialization began in early 90s of the last century. With the industrialization the area started to come forward, and at the present time, Savar is one of the most important suburbs of Dhaka city. Industrialization have created many opportunities which increase the urban development and of this area. Many facilities have increased due to urbanization that fascinated people in migration. But incompetent urban and industrial growth is creating pollution and many other problems. This research shows the spatial development in a desired manner and links land uses of the area with its local context and environment in solving these problems.

Sharmin Sultana is veterinair chirurg bij de regering van de Volksrepubliek Bangladesh. Ze werkte als extra dierenarts van 2011 tot 2012, en als dierenarts van 2012 tot 2014.
