Open-heart surgery is a high-tech expensive procedure; therefore, surgical site infections not only adversely affect treatment outcomes and reduce patients' quality of life, but also significantly increase the cost of medical services and the labor costs of the medical staff.The study of etiology, epidemiology and risk factors of surgical surgical infection in cardiac surgery is the basis for obtaining evidence-based information required for the development of treatment practice guidelines, clinical guidelines and protocols, as well as for the analysis of economic efficiency of preventive measures.
