Brazil is going through a period of financial crisis that is affecting all sectors, even the machining tool sector. That's why companies have to work to find alternatives that allow them to continue operating with less capital without compromising the quality of their products, and to do so they invest in research. One of the criteria to be taken into account when looking for good results in cutting tools for machining operations is tool geometry. This has a major influence on chip formation and removal, cutting forces, tool life, final roughness of the workpiece and, consequently, the quality of the surface finish of the final workpiece.
