Influence of environmental conditions on aviation accidents involving birds

This book, entitled Influence of environmental conditions on the occurrence of aviation accidents associated with birds, seeks to analyze the occurrence of accidents related to collisions between aircraft and birds, caused by various socio-environmental factors. In addition to hazardous activities, other factors cause an ecological imbalance that is a determining factor in the increase of avian risk in the airport area: the existence of the Hulene Municipal dump and solid waste concentration points, open markets and stalls around the airport, which are places where birds and other animals look for food.The reporting of collisions is a way of increasing aviation safety at airports and in the areas around them. It is a fact that every event (accident/incident) during a flight needs to be reported as a way of creating an internal safety culture, helping to prevent accidents and improve internal processes. Maputo International Airport presents a very high level of risk involving the problem species Heron, Stork, its presence is related to the hotspots existing in the Airport Security Area and in its enclosure.
