INFLUENCE OF PORNOGRAPHY ON YOUTH BEHAVIOURS

This study (influence of pornography on youth behaviours) by Iorlumun Tarlumun investigates the influence of pornography on youth behaviors in Makurdi Town, Benue State, Nigeria. Employing a survey methodology with a sample of 400 respondents, it explores patterns of pornography consumption, psychological impacts, and sociocultural influences. The findings reveal that the majority of youths access pornography via digital platforms, with significant behavioral changes observed among consumers. The study highlights the role of parental guidance and the lack of awareness regarding digital literacy programs aimed at mitigating the negative effects of pornography. Recommendations include enhancing sexual education and parental involvement to foster healthier youth development and addressing the sociocultural nuances influencing youth attitudes toward pornography.
