Influence of Pulsing Solutions on Vase Life of Cut Rose Varieties

Very peculiar aspect of rose production is to get the cut flowers, which greatly deals with the floricultural business.Under ordinary conditions,the roses could be a source of beautification and attraction for only few days. Since most of the people like to enjoy the beauty and scenery of flowers for a longer period of time, there is a dire need to explore the possibilities of extending vase life by using different biocides and preservative solutions. This book,therefore,shows the significance of using pulsing biosides and preservative solutions for post harvest handling of roses from the growers up to consumers.

Shimeles Tilahun Betre, MSc: was born in Ethiopia in 1982 and studied BSc degree at Jimma University and MSc degree at Haramaya University in Horticulture. He worked as an instructor at college and in Ethiopian Horticulture Association, as Production and Farm Manager in Floriculture farms. Currently he is Lecturer in Wollega University.
