INFORMATION NEEDS OF FARM WOMEN TOWARDS ANIMAL HUSBANDRY PRACTICES

Information is considered to be an essential part of every human being's existence. Information is a basic need of life which helps in the fulfillment of other needs such as food and shelter. Therefore it can be said that without information, survival and development of any community is not possible. Information is a strategic resource for economic, social and personal development.The term "information need" refers to the information that people require to conduct their business and live their daily lives.The contribution of women to national development in the current context and its potential is of greater significance. Involvement of Indian women in national progress at all levels is indisputable reality although the degree of involvement varies from time to time and region to region. The prosperity and growth of a nation depends on the status and development of its women as they not only constitute nearly half of the population, but also positively influence the growth of remaining half of the population. Women play significant and crucial role in agricultural and livestock development. Most of the works related to livestock management are looked after by rural women.
