This book investigates the key concepts of Information Systems for the Management of Organizations, as well as the role of information, in terms of decision support, by managers of different organizations. Information has become a source of value for organizations in the global economy, playing a key role in contributing to sustainable development and their performance. The relationship of information management with business management helps in the decision-making process. This theme addresses Information from the perspective of Management, moving away from the traditional view, proposing a more balanced assessment of research, dedicating some pages to economics, management, strategy and communication, areas that envisage other ways of looking at the management of information, in the context of decision-making.

Jose Poças Rascão (PhD, ISCTE / ULI) is a Professor of Management Information Systems at the Polytechnic Institute of Setubal, Graduate School of Business Sciences, Portugal. He is a researcher in the Research Unit in the development of enterprise (UNIDE) at the Lisbon University Institute (ISCTE / ULI).
