Shelter has been seen as the most basic need from the first humans to the present day. This need has constantly changed and transformed as a result of the development of technology and the differentiation of human needs. It is seen that civil engineers and architects predominate in the studies carried out for the housing problem. Civil engineering and architecture, which are inseparable parts of each other, act with common sense in most fields. This book, prepared in this context and titled "Innovative and Different Ideas in the Field of Civil Engineering and Architecture", includes different studies and ideas in this field. The book consists of 5 chapters. In the first part, there are studies on the protection of cultural heritage, in the second and third parts, mycelium which is a new and different material, in the fourth part, traditional structures, and in the fifth part, studies on spent coffee grounds. This book, which is very attractive to the scientific world and contains different materials and topics, will make a great contribution to science.

O Prof. Dr. Ahmet Celal APAY nasceu em Istambul em 1950. Concluiu a sua licenciatura em 1974 e o seu mestrado em 1978. Concluiu o doutoramento em 1983. Atualmente, continua a trabalhar na Universidade de Düzce, Faculdade de Arte, Design e Arquitetura. APAY, autor de vários artigos e livros.
