There are supposed to be two kinds of teenagers: the kind who make something of themselves and the kind who end up in prison. Alfie Mulligan is earmarked to be second. He ticks all the boxes. He's the child of a teenage mum, hes been in trouble in primary school And the dreadlocks don't help. His Citizenship teacher is bent on making his life a misery. A misery Alfie will do anything to keep a secret. How can he learn to face up to the bullying and believe in himself?

Born in London and raised in Hampshire, Jade wrote her first story when she was five and hasn t stopped writing since. Aged 23, she started writing for young people, enjoying it so much she decided to make a career out of it. This is her first published novel.
