Institutional repository planning and implementation

Institutional Repository (IR) initiatives facilitate to gather, preserve, and make persistently accessible a variety of scholarly materials. IR is widely developed globally to support research, learning, and administrative processes of the concern institute. A wide variety of contents may be included in the repositories for the multiplicity of purposes and users. The open source and open access trends along with academic need are the driving forces for developing IR nowadays. This book illustrated different issues from planning to implementation phase of IR for any institution and focused on IR planning, policies and legal issues, access management, functional overview of the repository software, and step by step installation procedure of relevant software to build up IR. This book will be suitable for IR policy makers, project managers and librarians.

Mr. Shoeb completed MA and MPhil in Information Science & Library Management (ISLM) from the University of Dhaka (DU). He has also earned MSc in Computer Science from Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) and GNIIT from NIIT, India. He has been working as Deputy Librarian (Systems) at IUB. Currently, he is pursuing PhD in ISLM at DU.
