The study investigated the Integrated Community Based Adult Education (ICBAE) as a Strategy for Rural development in Tanzania using Misungwi as a study area. The study focused on the exploration of relevance of imparted knowledge and skills through ICBAE to the community, examination the ICBAE income generating projects for poverty reduction and investigation of the challenges encountered by rural community during implementations of ICBAE income generating activities. A total number of 142 respondents in four selected areas were employed. Data were collected through questionnaire, interviews and documentary review. Numerical data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Non-numerical data were subjected to content analysis. The study revealed that 64.1% said that education through ICBAE programme; provide knowledge and skills relevant to participants. Results of this study indicated that 51.4% agreed that the knowledge and skills taught to ICBAE members help them. ICBAE Income Generating Activities (IGAs) in Misungwi were identified which included land cultivation, livestock keeping, carpentery, fishing, tree planting, sewing and horticulture.
