INTERCEPTIVE ORTHODONTICS

Interceptive procedures aim to identify and treat dental and orthodontic issues at an early stage, often during a child's growth and development. This early intervention can prevent problems from becoming more severe and complex, ultimately leading to more effective and efficient treatment outcomes. When left untreated, dental problems can worsen over time, leading to more complicated and invasive treatments later on. These procedures can mitigate the need for extensive orthodontic interventions or surgical procedures by tackling issues when they are still relatively minor.The common procedures and strategies involved in interceptive orthodontics are serial extractions, correction of crossbite & oral habits, use of functional appliances and management of ectopic eruption & crowding.
