International Journal of Tourism and Sustainable Community Development

This collection of abstracts presented in the International Conference on Tourism's Role in Sustainable Community Development addresses what local communities can contribute to sustainable tourism and what sustainability can offer these local communities in return. The conference theme, "Impacts of Tourism on Community Development and Sustainable Livelihood" captures the aim of the conference which is to explore the sustainability approaches to tourism and exchange insights on the essential role of the community among educators and students. A broad range of topics on community involvement in tourism and business development; consumer behavior; ecotourism in modified environment; education; international issues and cross-cultural research; urban tourism and cultural heritage; and human resource management were peer-reviewed and presented in the conference.

Imus Institute of Science and Technology and Universiti Malaysia Sabah jointly organized the International Conference on Tourism's Role in Sustainable Community Development held in February 17-19, 2016 at Camp Benjamin in Cavite, Philippines. Dr. Karen M. Fernandez served as the conference chair, co-chaired by Dr. Rosazman Hussin.
