For over two centuries now, the triumph of human rights has demonstrated that, in liberal democracies, reference to human rights has been decisive in inspiring and legitimizing the political, legal and social order. It sometimes gives the impression of constituting a new ideology to compensate for the weakening of beliefs and morals.The aim of this book is to bring these rights and freedoms to the attention of a wide readership, thereby contributing to the education of the citizen. Indeed, the presentation of human rights and fundamental freedoms is not a simple exercise in legal technique, but contains a form of faith in their essential value, without forgetting the indispensable scientific rigor.
