Interrelating with Animal Selves

In the form of an exploratory essay, this book outlines historical and current thinking and scholarship about nonhuman consciousness and cognition, new anthropological understandings of animist worldviews, and discussions of the attribution of selves to animal characters in juvenile literature in order to paint a picture in broad strokes of what animal selves may be and how we may already know them.
