Intervention Theater Techniques for the Dissemination of Information

In this book, Rosemary focuses on the interventionist theatre techniques as effective communication tools in the dissemination of 'Hard-to-communicate' issues. The subject of HIV/AIDS for instance is a taboo subject on the lips of many African households and institutions. This explains why the book analyses the functionality of theatre arts in the works of Moi University Theatre arts students in Kenya as a case study. Through the perspectives of Agusto Boal's poetics of the oppressed, and Paulo freire's liberatory pedagogy of the oppressed, theatre arts, genres in this book offer insights into the various aspects of theatre arts as artistic and learning tools.

Murundu Rosemary Okayo é uma artista de teatro e uma académica literária. Atualmente, Rosemary está na Escola de Artes e Ciências Sociais, Departamento de Literatura, Teatro e Estudos Cinematográficos da Universidade de Moi, Eldoret - Quénia. Está a poucos meses de terminar o seu doutoramento.
