Intestinal dialysis: A concise textbook

Many countries throughout the world are struggling to improve the basic level of health services, and are unable to provide the expensive traditional renal replacement therapies that have been increasingly regarded as having rather a disappointing outcome in these countries. Such countries are definitely eager to find alternative therapies for the care of patients with chronic renal failure. A novel paradigm for the management of such patients is increasingly demanded to help in providing the best quality of care possible in such situations. There has been accumulating evidence confirming that intestinal dialysis can be useful option for many patients with chronic renal failure during the course of their illness. The aim of this textbook is to provide an overview of the emerging practices of intestinal dialysis.
