This book endeavors to explore the transition
experiences of new social workers in Singapore, a
phenomenon not yet explored in local
literature. The transition phase for new graduate
social workers entering their organizations is
an important event in the formation of attitudes,
knowledge and skills which would lay
the groundwork for future effective work
performance. The need to understand this critical
phase of career development is intensified in a
field where attrition rates are high and reports of
burnouts have been numerous. This book represents an
initiative towards retaining social workers for the
future.

Autorentext
Mohamed Fareez is a registered social worker under the Singapore Association of Social Workers. With an Honors degree in Social Work from the National University of Singapore, Fareez is currently employed as a social worker in a family service centre in Singapore, working with families in the community facing multiple stressors.
