Details

The objective of the research work is to formulate and characterize antimigraine drug loaded chitosan nanoparticles. Migraine is characterized with severe headache and emesis which may results in loss of dose if administered orally. Therefore, the formulation is aimed to be delivered through intranasal route. Chitosan nanoparticles were prepared by ionotropic gelation method using tripolyphosphate as cross-linking agent and tween 80 as surfactant. The formulation was optimized using Taguchi L9 (34) orthogonal experimental design. The developed formulation was characterized for particle size distribution, zeta potential, entrapment efficiency, in vitro and ex vivo release.
