It is my immense pleasure to present and publish Introduction to the Sina River Basin in Maharashtra, a comprehensive resource for readers, researchers, and academicians across various fields of study. Rivers are the lifeblood of nations and human societies, and while numerous books exist on major rivers in India and the world, the smaller yet significant rivers at the local level are essential to the overall development of specific regions. In geographical studies, understanding the concept of "region"-especially a natural region-is of vital importance.This book is structured into three chapters:Chapter I presents the geographical profile of the Sina River Basin, covering aspects such as geology, physiography, climate, drainage, and natural vegetation.Chapter II explores the demographic structure of the basin, including the distribution of population, sex ratio, and literacy rates.Chapter III provides a detailed account of the general land use pattern across three decades (1990-91, 2000-01, and 2010-11), along with an analysis of spatiotemporal changes in land use during these periods (1990-91 to 2000-01, 2000-01 to 2010-11, and 1990-91 to 2010-11).
