Introduction to LED Lighting

"LED Lighting" is the future of the lighting industry since LEDs offer several advantages over conventional light sources. Their electrical and optical characteristics are different from that of conventional sources; hence design of LED lights needs special considerations. Multiple LEDs are required to fulfill the requirements of lighting system. This calls for design of geometric configuration of LEDs along with their spatial and spectral characteristics. This book comprehensively covers the basics of lighting system and it's major classification along with variable requirements of lighting in different applications. It describes the design procedure for LED luminaires. Simulation tool and experimental set ups required for the design and the analysis of lighting system are explained.
