Lena Iréne Sofia Theorin, born June 18, 1963 in Gislaved Municipality, Småland, is a Swedish opera singer (soprano). She studied at the 'Music Academy' and 'Royal Opera School' in Copenhagen, Denmark, for a period also at the 'Opera School' in Göteborg, Sweden. In 1998 she was the only receiver of the Danish 'Léonie Sonning scholarship'. Her professional debut took place in Copenhagen, where she performed as Donna Anna in Mozart's Don Giovanni. Iréne Theorin's range includes parts such as Brünnhilde in Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen, Isolde in his Tristan und Isolde, the title role in Puccini's Turandot, Elisabetta in Verdi's Don Carlos and so on.
