Politics calls people s existence constantly into question but there are moments of unpredictability built into humanity, endowing individuals with the capacity to conceive themselves differently from the requirements of subjectification. This book approaches the Roma holocaust in Hungary by looking at forms of resistance which took shape and aimed to challenge every abuse of power. It suggests another path to read the holocaust through the experiences of Roma women.

Anna Lujza Szász has been a doctoral candidate in the Interdisciplinary Social Sciences Program, Eötvös Lóránd University, Budapest and a junior researcher at the Institute of Sociology, Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Her academic interests: Roma contemporary visual art; social memory; the interplay between aesthetics and politics.
