Islam and the West +

The purpose of this book is first and foremost to make the West more familiar with Islam, get rid of misconceptions and fallacies, no spoon feeding from the jug to the mug process but to associate the reader to the discovery of the verses, avoid a linear reading but a criss-cross reflection. Some contentious issues have been put in context and clarified. El Andalus is given as a model for emulation for Islam's openness to others in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-faith society that caters for the needs of all, a society that worked for everyone wherein notions of diversity, coexistence, peace where concrete. All this to bridge the "sorry gap" between the West and the Muslim world for a more positive future relationship based on mutual respect, benefit, peace and security.
