According to Max Muller 1873 there are six major world religions that can be divided into missionary and non-missionary. To him Islam, Christianity and Buddhism are all missionary religions. While, Judaism, Hinduism and Zoroastrianism are none-missionary faiths. This book is an attempt to present the role of Islamic Da'wah and Missionary Enterprise on the spread of the word of God a long the Kenyan coast from 1895-2005. The study consists of the following chapters: Chapter One; Introduction, Chapter two; An overview of Islam in the East African coast, Chapter three; Christianity in the Kenya Coast, Chapter four; The Struggle of Kenyan Muslims against the colonial regime and the Christian church, Chapter five; The impact of Islamic Da'wah and missionary works in Mombasa, Malindi and Lamu districts, Chapter six; The anti-Islamic Policy of the Kenyan government.

Dr.A.Kheir was born 1966 in Kenya. He got both his primary and Madrasa education at Ngomeni.Secondary education at KII Mombasa 1986. BA in Islamic Studies (Hadith) AIU Karachi 1990. MA in Islamic Studies (Islamic Political Thought)UDU Sokoto 1994.PhD in(African Studies) at IUA Khartoum 2012. Currently, is a lecturer and University Imam KU Nairobi.
