Isolation In Operating Field

The need for proper tooth isolation during restorative procedures is undeniable because anything that obscures the operative field negatively impacts the efficiency and effectiveness of the operator. When proper isolation is lacking, visibility, patient/operator safety, infection control, and the physical properties of dental materials are all compromised. The focal point of our isolation efforts should be the prevention of aspiration or ingestion of endodontic instruments, but isolation should also include the quest for canal space asepsis
