The reform of the pension system in Côte d'Ivoire, as elsewhere, is a crucialremains a controversial and topical issue. Our work attempts to provide a reflection on pensions and the reform of this system, and focuses on the case of the Ivorian public sector. Starting with a historical and institutional analysis of pension systems in general, and an assessment of the situation of the civil service in Côte d'Ivoire, this research focuses on the relevance of the reform measures undertaken in the Ivorian public sector pension system, and attempts to analyze their social and economic impact, and the sustainability of the pay-as-you-go scheme's equilibrium through optimization of technical and financial management. It suggests possible reforms in the light of current and future prospects for the system.
