Japan's cultural diplomacy

Today, cultural diplomacy is undoubtedly a key element of the foreign policy of any state. After a bloody twentieth century, the international community came to the conclusion that the use of brute force produces nothing but destruction and universal hatred. Japan, as a country whose reputation was badly damaged during World War II, has set a goal for itself in this century: to rehabilitate itself in the eyes of the world community. The Land of the Rising Sun chose cultural diplomacy as its main tool and is now steadily gaining recognition around the world. The culture of anime, manga and cosplay has long ago transcended the boundaries of the country and has earned universal approval among the representatives of a large number of countries. Japanese writers have been translated into many languages and Japanese history and traditions have attracted the genuine interest of many researchers. So what is the success of the Land of the Rising Sun?
