JIT Elements Evaluated for Indian Industry

Just in time (JIT) is a management philosophy, which aims to produce goods of high quality and in sufficient quantity to meet customer demand exactly in time. This philosophy promotes minimum waste because waste includes time and resources as well as materials. JIT philosophy helps for production of low-cost and enhanced quality goods. This also leads to achievement of best results through continuous improvement in business activities with the help of redefining procedural activities to be performed within an organization. For the achievement of above goals it is important to monitor the changes in the quality of the products, reduction of set-up times, defects in products, rework and throughput time through employee involvement.
