Joan of Arc and the capital

Joan of Arc as a historical figure can be viewed from many different perspectives. This paper asks whether she can be described as a social actor in a literary reality as a source of capital transformations according to Pierre Bourdieu. Quotes from Linder's "The Stormy Girl. The Adventures of Joan of Arc." and Schiller's "The Maid of Orleans" help to get to the bottom of this question. Capital transformations from symbolic to social and from social to economic capital are critically examined and related to Joan of Arc.
